Apex Marriage License Details

Applying for a Marriage License from Apex

Bring valid government-issued photo ID and your Social Security card. If previously divorced, have the month and year ready. If the divorce was within 60 days, bring a certified copy of the decree. Cash payment of $60 is required. The license is valid right away and good for 60 days in any county.
Apex Marriage License Requirements
G.S. 51-2 sets the age at 18 or older. No residency is needed. No blood test or medical exam is required. G.S. 51-8 gives the Register of Deeds the authority to issue the license. Two witnesses are needed at the ceremony. The officiant returns the signed license to Wake County within 10 days.
A marriage may be performed by a magistrate for $50 or by an ordained minister. The Apex Town Clerk at 73 Hunter Street handles town council records, town code, and public records requests. The town clerk does not issue or maintain any vital records.

Apex Marriage License Process

After Your Apex Wedding

For name changes, take a certified copy to the Social Security Administration. Wait for the new card, then visit the NC DMV.
