Halifax County Marriage License Requirements

Under state law, you must be at least 18 to marry without parental consent. Ages 16 and 17 require written parental consent and a certified birth certificate. The marriage license is valid for 60 days from the date it is issued, and it can be used in any county across the state.

If either person was previously married, you will need to provide the month and year of the last divorce. There is no waiting period after a divorce is finalized.
